Our first Christmas donation campaign was in cooperation with “Marcos de Medellin” who took us to the poor neighborhood of "Santo Domingo Savio" where we gave food and gifts to 85 families and more than 400 children.

On Saturday, December 29th, at 8 o’clock in the morning we met at the agency, Colombian Sweethearts, to start our Christmas trip to the poor Barrios of Medellín in order to bring a bit of happiness to all the little children that were waiting for us with great expectation. We were all very excited and of course very grateful to all of you that donated and made this dream come true for these very poor children and families.

We got on the truck, we put all the toys and candies on the back and hit the road. We didn’t know exactly where we were, it was like a very distant land. We were amazed by how poor and sad this place was. We couldn’t believe that this was the same city where we live. This was nothing at all like Parque Lleras or El Poblado.

Thanks to your contribution we bought over 3400 toys that included yo-yos, balls, dolls and much more, as well as t-shirts, food and school articles.

When we finally got there, there were hundreds of people waiting for us. It was a rainy day, but all these little children had a huge shiny sun on their faces when they received their presents and candies.

Their warmth and gratitude filled the place with a true Christmas environment.

On behalf of these people and Colombian Sweethearts, we want to thank all of you for becoming “Angels of Love” to all these children that for sure will never forget this past Christmas.
